Important Information on bullying, schools and communities

The Problem

There is an increasing concern regarding violence among children and youth. In the last decade, violence, including violence by and against children and adolescents, has been the focus of extensive media attention, public debate and research. Violence is often seen as physical assaults such as hitting and fighting yet it includes teasing and name-calling. It is not always overt and easily identified as it can be subtle and pervasive.

Community violence is reflected in schools, on the school grounds and in the community. Violent behaviour is no longer something that can be dismissed as “kids will be kids”. There is a growing sensitivity to the need to curb violence, in spite of its greater acceptance in society. Whether we are just noticing more children and youth engage in violence, through greater awareness, or whether the numbers are actually increasing, is debatable. The reality is that community-based violence is a social problem, reflecting the violence occurring in society. Many communities may actually support violence with a bully culture. Full story here

Know Your Rights!

One of the main reasons that bullies bully is because they can. People surrounding the bullying simply do nothing or approve of the behavior . In many cases, both adults and children will join in so it is important to know what your rights under the law really are.

Many studies about bully cultures in our communities say the same thing,
"Government officials count on you not knowing your rights as they bully and intimidate"
Our government frequently knows that bullying is taking place, but want you to think that nothing is wrong and that you are too sensitive or over reacting. So This section covers some of the basic rights we all have in Manitoba. Click Here for more info.

Bully Victims (targets) treated like Criminals

Ask any councilor, school official or anyone in authority what the biggest problem they face when it comes to bullying and they will usually tell you that kids won’t report it. Their reasoning is that the kids don’t want to be a stool pigeon, or accused of ratting out, or telling on someone. This may be valid in a very few cases, but in most cases it’s NOT Click here for more.

It is almost a year since a family member has committed suicide and 6 months since another death in the family, it hasn't gotten any easier. I have not maintained this site since April of 2007. The amount of work in dealing with the deaths has been extremely draining. I have now started again to collect information for this site and hope to have more information by spring 2008.  I will include information related to the deaths so you can understant exactly what it takes to reach a fatal conclusion and the role government can play in the event. The only thing I can say is that the bullies never skipped a beat. the death came and went without any effects on them and that includes the government.

The Serial Bully

Accidental bullies do it when they're under stress. Destructive bullies do it when they're challenged. But serial bullies - the most dangerous of all - do it because they can. Serial bullies can be found everywhere in society and are responsible for most of the destruction caused by bullying. They carefully select one or more colleagues and set about deliberately undermining them. Click here for more info

Popular Bullies -Everyone Loves A BULLY!

Most people are led to believe that bullies are disaffected social outcasts, loners; towering hulks that stand around schools waiting for kids to come out so they can pound them steal their lunch money and call them names.  This is about as far from the truth as you can get, however this stereo type is used to determine whether or not a person is or isn’t a bully. Bullying In Sports
Bullying has always been a serious problem in Sports. Unfortunately  sports organizations usually ignore the problem as the bully usually is also the best athlete with an ego to match. It is due to bullying in sports that our school system has difficulty keeping kids in Gym class and it is due to bullying that many kids lose their interest in athletics after school. these sites provide some interesting information on the problem. Bully Victim? Once a victim always a victim?  Becoming a bully magnet?

It’s happened; your child tells you they are being bullied. You talk to them only to find out it has been going on for months. You talk to the authorities which could include school officials, sports club coaches, daycare operators, municipal government and even police. Their solution, move your child to a new location such as a new classroom. Things are fine for awhile then it starts again. Soon they are moved to a new school, another new classroom, then another new school, then a new community, a new sports club and yet each time things are fine for a while then it starts again. You are frustrated, angry and stressed to the limit. By now, even you and your spouse are disliked everywhere you go. Why and how could this happen?

Bully Investigations - Real or Fake?

We would all like to think that our government only has our best interest in mind and that all investigations will be done in an efficient manner with the desire to solve the problem. Unfortunately less than half of bully investigations are real the rest are fake. These are conducted by people that are either totally incompetent or by adult bullies that are trying to silence the victim because they discovered that they are dealing with a Popular bully and it is easier to get rid of the Victim.  more....

Workplace Bullying!
Bullying.... It's not just for kids. Bullying at work is any form of behavior which is offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting or is an abuse or misuse of power intended to undermine, humiliate, denigrate or injure individuals or groups. Click here for more information.

Our Story and the Reason for this web site
Six years ago, we were a normal happy family. We were heavily involved in the community, school and activities.  All this was taken away from us when bullies destroyed our son and the support given to the bullies by the Manitoba government and agencies, nearly destroyed our entire family. How poorly Manitoba government employees charged with protecting children and families performed.

Manitoba's Second Class Citizens

In Manitoba, we have a population of second class people. These are the bully victims once the bullying has stopped. These are the people that aren’t allowed the same rights as the rest of the people in the province and they may represent 10 to 15 % of the population. Click here for More.....

Suicide- When the Pain of Living exceeds the pain of dying.

For many bully targets,  suicide seems the only solution. With no help in sight and angry investigators threatening you and calling you a liar, at least you can control the end.  Here is what happens when Popular bullies, take out their complaining targets

The Bully cycle
Why bully complaints are never false

First the bullies bully the target
Then the adults bully the target
Then the government bullies  the target
Then the target bullies themselves
Then bad things happen.

Community bullying

Community bullying or Jurisdictional bullying goes by many names and is well know through out the world. In Europe it is called group mobbing in other places it goes by other names like neighborhood bullying, group bullying, group stalking, organized bullying, organized stalking and so on. Group bullying and grouping mobbing also refers to workplace bullying and the events that separate neighborhood bullying and workplace bullying are vague at best. In both cases, the bullying involves a large number of people. Click here for more.

Three Steps to a Bully Solution

1.Create a command center - Anti-Bully and Youth Violence Prevention Association
Violence and bullying have no place in Manitoba society. It’s time for action.
Bullying and youth violence exists everywhere, in our communities, homes, schools, sporting events and workplaces. They attack 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

 2. Attack Bullies in School(a different approach) Bullying and Youth Violence in School
For too many years, our government and administrators believe that the only way to battle bullying and youth violence is with more rules, new laws, and tougher enforcement, filling our schools with police, surveillance cameras, locking doors and placing metal detectors at every entrance. We are turning our schools into prisons where the adults act as prison guards that are watching and waiting for a prisoner (student) to attack another prisoner.

3. Attack Bullies on the Front Lines - Community and Neighborhood Bully Prevention
Our communities and neighborhoods are the front line of defense against bullying and youth violence. Our communities and neighborhoods are the source of problems. It is in our communities where bullies are born raised and trained. It is the parents and daycare providers that set the stage for how their children turn out
